The Bren School offers a two-year professional Master of Environmental Science & Management (MESM) program and a PhD in Environmental Science & Management program consisting of directed research with a Bren faculty member and culminating in a doctoral dissertation. Also available is a PhD emphasis in Economics and Environmental Science (EES). The program is offered jointly by the Bren School and the UCSB Economics Department.

A number of additional interdisciplinary courses of study are available, as well as programs involving faculty and departments located elsewhere on the UCSB campus. Find out more.

The Bren Communications Center
The Commincations Center is an important element of the school. Bren students do a tremendous amount of writing, and the center supports them in improving their skills across a range of academic and professional communication tasks, each an indispensable element in the professional environmental leader's toolkit.
