UCSB abides by the Council of Graduate School's resolution that prospective students are under no obligation to accept a financial award until April 15. For more information on this resolution, please see the Council of Graduate School's web site. Fee Fellowship Program Doris Duke Conservation Fellows Program The Bren School is one of only eight university programs in the United States to host The Doris Duke Conservation Fellows Program. Founded in 1997, funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and managed by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the Fellows Program is the nation’s premier leadership development program for future conservation leaders pursuing master’s degrees in multidisciplinary environmental studies programs. The program provides funding to a select group of universities and/or institutions within them to support students who are enrolled in such programs at host universities and are committed to careers as practicing conservationists. Each Doris Duke Conservation Fellowship provides up to $26,000 for fees, health insurance, and tuition (if applicable) for the 2nd year of the MESM program plus a $5,000 stipend to cover the cost of a summer internship. In addition, the School will receive $5,000 to enhance its career development program. Finally, Fellows will be eligible to compete for a small pool of funding to engage in self-initiated networking and career development activities. MESM students can apply during fall quarter of their first year in the program.
