Nicholas
Burger
-
Nick received
his PhD from the Economics Department in the spring of
2008. The title of Nick's dissertation was: "Essays in
Environment
and Development," supervised by Prof. Deacon. Upon graduating,
Nick took a job as an Associate
Economist for RAND Corporation in Washington D.C.
Jonah Busch - Jonah received his PhD from the
Bren School in 2008. His research advisor was Prof. Deacon and
the
title of his dissertation, "Three Essays on the Economics of Nature
Conservation." Jonah went to work for Conservation
International's
Center for Applied Biodiversity Science in Washington D.C. as a
Post-doctoral Fellow in Economics, focusing on Climate Change and
Biodiversity.
Marc
Conte - Marc received his PhD from the Bren School in 2008, under
the supervision of Prof. Costello. He is currently in a postdoc
at Stanford University.

Allison
Huang - Allison received her PhD from the Bren School
in the spring of 2008. Her research advisor was Prof.
Deacon and the title of her dissertations, "Legislative voting and
environmental policy." After graduation, Allison
will be working as an Economist with the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Dan Kaffine - Dan received his PhD from the Bren School
in 2007, supervised by Prof. Costello and is currently an
assistant
professor at the Colorado School of Mines - Division of Economics and
Business.

John Lynham
John received a PhD in Economics and an MA in Marine Ecology in the
spring of 2008. His research advisor was Prof. Costello.
John is now an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of
Hawaii in
Honolulu, Hawaii.

James
Nachbaur - James received his PhD from the Bren School in
2007 and now works for Ernst & Young as a Senior Consultant in
Transfer Pricing. His dissertation focused on
patterns of collective action to coordinate the use of natural
resources within communities. Prof. Deacon was James's research
advisor.

Mike
Springborn - Mike received his PhD from the Bren School in the
spring of 2008, supervised by Prof. Costello. The title of Mike's
dissertation was: "Policies and Processes of Environmental Risk."
Upon graduating,
Mike took a job as Assistant Professor in the Department of
Environmental
Science and Policy at the University California, Davis.
