Abstract

The seminar offers students and faculty a chance to learn about the Arctic Governance Project and Dr. Broderstad’s work on challenges related to implementation of indigenous self-determination, indigenous rights, and citizenship rights as they relate to the formulation of effective environmental policy.

Please bring your lunch and join us for an informative and in-depth, but informal conversation with a world expert on human rights and environmental governance.

 

Biography

Else Broderstad serves as director of the newly formed Arctic Governance Project, which is chaired by Oran Young, professor of Institutional and International Governance at the Bren School. Dr. Broderstad has received government appointments as a member of the Saami Rights Commission (2001-2007), and of a public commission focusing on the northern region (March 2003).
