Implementation of AB 32:
California's Global Warming Solutions Act

May 19-20, 2011

With climate change legislation such as AB 32 in California coming online, corporations will need to prepare for new rules and regulations. This year's Corporate Summit will bring together leaders in the areas of policy, law, and business to discuss climate change regulation and identify ways that corporations can best prepare for these changes.

The summit will kick-off on May 19 with a celebration of the new Edison International Visitors Center at the Bren School. We are excited to honor Southern California Edison/Edison International, a Corporate Partner, for their tremendous generocity in funding our new Visitors Center.

On May 20, Corporate Partners and special guests will return to the Bren School for a morning of engaging panel discussions around this year's theme, Implementation of AB 32: California's Global Warming Solutions Act. The day will begin with a welcome breakfast and conclude with a networking lunch.

The annual Corporate Summit provides senior executives from Corporate Partner organizations with the opportunity to convene in a non-partisan environment to discuss needs, challenges and strategies affecting their industries. Networking across business sectors is extremely rare and important as solutions to environmental problems often span industries, disciplines and jurisdictions.

The summit will include the following key topics:

  • CEQA Implications of AB 32
  • Recent California Court Ruling regarding Cap & Trade
  • Establishment of Free Allowance Benchmarks
  • Energy Efficiency Assessments
  • Carbon Credit Banking
  • Carbon Footprint Management
  • Resident Carbon Reduction Programs
