"Agriculture: After 10,000 Years, It's Time to Upgrade" Hosted by Bren Assistant Professor Bruce Kendall
Biographical Summary Presentation Summary World grain production, which provides the majority of human food, depends on plant species that are outdated and inherently unsustainable. Current research in plant genetics will soon make ecologically sound grain production possible. Come to learn about progress in this exciting new field. The Land Institute The Land Institute has worked for over 20 years on the problem of agriculture. Our purpose is to develop an agricultural system with the ecological stability of the prairie and a grain yield comparable to that from annual crops. We have researched, published in refereed scientific journals, given hundreds of public presentations here and abroad, and hosted countless intellectuals and scientists. __________________________________________________________________________________
