David Stoms, Researcher – Bren School Biogeography Laboratory David Stoms is the manager of the Bren School Biogeography Lab, which conducts research integrating landscape ecology, conservation planning, and geospatial techniques. He received both his masters and doctorate degrees in geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research involves the application of conservation science and multi-criteria decision analysis to GIS-based biodiversity and farmland conservation planning methods. He also researches ecosystem-based management and ecosystem services at the land-sea interface, environmental impacts of biofuels, site-dependent life cycle assessment, and spatial database design for campus sustainability. |
