Prospective Ph.D. Applicants
What I look for in a prospective Ph.D. student:Applicants who wish to work with me may have a variety of undergraduate/graduate backgrounds, but must have some knowledge and/or strong interest in organizational behavior. Specific coursework in organizational behavior and related work experience are not necessary prior to applying. However, I do prefer applicants who have already obtained or are currently working on a master’s degree.
The average GRE for applicants admitted Bren School Ph.D. program is approximately 1300 (600 Verbal, 700 Quantitative). Excellent written skills are required; thus, I am looking for high Analytical GRE scores – 5.0 or higher (this refers to the written Analytical section of the GRE on tests taken after October 1, 2002; however, multiple-choice exams taken prior to this date will also be accepted).
If you are a U.S. resident, meet the above criteria, and would like to discuss working on a Ph.D. with me, please contact me via email (ramus@bren.ucsb.edu) and include the following information:
- Curriculum Vitae or Resume
- GRE scores
- Universities attended and degrees received
- A paragraph providing specific examples of research projects you are interested in working on and how this research is aligned with my interests.
Prospective international applicants should submit a pre-application (http://www.bren.ucsb.edu/admissions/requirements_internat.html) to the Admissions Coordinator for my review before sending any application materials.
Priority admission is given to applicants with their own source of funding. If you would like to be considered for the UCSB fellowship competition, please submit your application and all supporting materials to the Admissions Coordinator by the December 15 deadline. Please note: international students should first submit a pre-application and wait for approval before sending in any application materials.
