Assistant Dean for Development
Andrew Krupa administers the activities of the Bren School's external constituents. Andrew leads a team of devoted professionals that serve as the primary liaisons between the Bren School and the corporations, foundations, and individuals who wish to support the school's vision and mission through charitable investments. He and his development team are committed to developing funding and strategic partnerships in support of the Bren School.
As the Assistant Dean for
Development, Andrew enjoys the opportunity to
transform the lives of students while securing a sustainable
future for the planet. Andrew's career has focused on innovative
leadership in academic, NGO, private, and government sectors.
Prior to the Bren School and UCSB, Andrew served as Chief
Advancement Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Director
of Development for the University of Connecticut. His experience
in non-profit management and philanthropy has resulted in
successes ranging from multi-million dollar capital campaigns, to
educational and research funding, to individual transformative
Andrew is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, receiving both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Natural Resource Economics and Policy. Andrew received his certification of professional fundraising from Boston University. He is a life-long advocate for the environment. Andrew was the founder and chair of the Surfrider Foundation CT, and has served as a volunteer and educator with the Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, and Mystic Seaport.
