Monica Bulger, Director, Bren Communication Center Monica Bulger completed her PhD in Education in 2009. Her research demonstrated that while information may appear easy to find on the Internet, thanks to quick search results and increased accessibility of materials, locating relevant, high-quality information requires highly sophisticated literacy skills. Her study of 150 UCSB graduate and undergraduate students examines how college students gauge credibility and usefulness when evaluating online resources and, further, how they use this information when composing academic texts. |
