The Marine Sanctuary Group is an outgrowth of the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara. Composed of students in the M.E.S.M. Program, MSG seeks to address issues pertaining to the objectives of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, marine resource conservation, and public education by combining the presence of the world wide web with the visual and analytical tools of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
