Services - ACCOUNT EXTENSION PROCEDURES

1. Accounts:

As a courtesy, Bren School computer accounts (Windows logins, profiles, and email) of graduating MESM students will be kept active for at least 3 months after graduation. If you have a continuing relationship with Bren, please have your sponsor send an email to request@bren.ucsb.edu so that your computer account and files will remain active.

2. Email:

The Bren School offers "lifetime" e-mail forwarding for any student that maintains a current and working email address. You may update your email address from a web browser anytime, by going to the computing services web page and clicking on Vacation Mail and Forwarding. Your Bren username and password will function for this, even after your regular computer account has been disabled.

2. Summer Computing Lab use:

The SCF and GIS labs will be open during the summer from 7:30am - 4:00pm, M-F, unless one of them is closed for maintence. Anyone with an active Bren account may walk in and use the labs during these hours. There is no guarantee that any particular service or machine will be available, or that there will be anybody available to help with problems encountered.

3. Keys and Alarm codes:

When the lab doors are locked, your security code is required.

  • Keys and alarm codes are only issued to those who have a current official relationship (employee or student) with the University.
  • Alarm codes shall be disabled for all students that have graduated and a) are not employed by UCSB or b) continuing in the Bren School Ph.D. program.
  • If you have a continuing relationship with Bren, please have your sponsor send an email to request@bren.ucsb.edu so that your computer account and files will remain active.
