LDAP Directory Service (Bren ONLY addresses)

Option 1.

with outlook closed right click and save the VBS file bren_ldap.vbs when saved run the file by double clicking on it.

next time you open outlook you will be asked to entern your username and password use esm\username (where username is your bren username) and your bren password.

Option 2.

• Choose Tools | E-mail Accounts... from the menu. This leads to:
  
  
  
• Under Directory select View or change existing directories or address books. Click on Next
  
  
  
  
• Click on Add...
  
  
  
  
• Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP). Click on Next
  
  
  
  
• Server Name: shrek.esm.ucsb.edu
• This server requires me to logon - ticked
• User name: esm\username (this is your BREN logon username)
  
• Password: ******
• Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) - checked
• Click on More Settings...
  
  
  
  
• Change Display Name to Bren School Contacts
  
• Port: 3268
• Click on the Search tab
  
  
  
  
• Set Search base to cn=users,dc=esm,dc=ucsb,dc=edu (copy and paste this into the field)
• Set "Specify the maximum number of entries..." to 600
• Click on OK
  
• Click on Next and Finish
