Mission

The Bren School computing environment:

• maintains a stable, integrated computing resource;
  
• supports a uniform baseline of services for all participants;
  
• allows participant-controlled extensions;
  
• provides a relevant knowledge base of computing expertise;
  
• encourages and incorporates innovative solutions, especially those resulting from the synthesis of environmental science and management.

Computing Committee

The Bren School Computing Resource Committee (crc@bren.ucsb.edu):

• owns, interprets, and evolves the Bren School Computing Environment Policy;
  
• authorizes a computing administration to implement this policy;
  
• constitutes ad-hoc subcommittees or working groups to implement specific projects;
  
• represents the needs and concerns of the computing environment participants;
  
• reviews the implementation and performance of the computing administration and environment.
